Come and Try Archery The Sport for Everyone
DVA has a year-round Come and Try program which gives you the opportunity to get started in the sport with ease and confidence. Our qualified instructors will get your hitting the target in no time, and our structured format is both safe and fun. So whether you want a new hobby, to compete at the highest level, or just something fun to try, the DVA Come and Try is a great way to get started. Classes operate Saturday Morning 10am to 12pm Monday Night 7:30pm to 9pm (indoor) Cost is $20 per person. Equipment SuppliedGET STARTED NOW
Once you Join, it’s all happening!
After you have finished Come and Try and join the club there is a heap going on to help you improve, participate in and make more friends.
Once you have completed your Come and Try move straight into our Saturday morning League system. The perfect way to learn structured archery formats.
DV Ants – Junior Development
DVA has our Junior Archery teams in both Target and 3D archery. Juniors learn the importantance of working together and develop the skills to move into competition in a fun, friendly environment.
Wednesday Barebow League
Wednesday nights is Barebow Night. We shoot a 30 arrow indoor round with Barebow and Longbow setups getting preferential entry. Learn from other barebow shooters on the finer aspects of the style.
Friday Night League
Need to push your competition experiance further. The Friday night League is the way to go. A Handicap event running over a number of weeks. Perfect for beginners all the way up to Advanaced.
Used at the Olympics. Recurve bows are shot with fingers and use a sight. While used mostly for Target and Indoor shooting it’s also popular for field.
Hugely popular in Australia and the USA. Compound bows are used in all formats Many use magnified scopes and release triggers. This is the division with the most professionals
What people think of when they think archery. Robin Hood used a Longbow and they are popular with modern archers too. No sights on these bows.
Recurve and Compound bows are often shot without sights, stabilizers and release devises. Very popular with the field shooting events but also used for 3D, Target and Indoor.
